About Susan Culver
.Artist Biography
My name is Susan Culver, as a very young child I was highly imaginative, I started to draw as soon as I could hold a pencil in my hand. There was never a more excited child than I when my older sister gave me a one hundred and twenty pack of Crayola crayons. Having received this wondrous gift I was able to put crayon to paper, and illustrate the world of my imagination. When I was about ten years old my father bought me a beautiful set of pastels, and I haven’t stopped painting, drawing, or designing since that time.
I had been married for about fourteen years, and had two children age four, and seven I decided to go back to school, at the ripe old age of thirty-six. I attended the Tyler School of Art, which is a part of Temple University in Philadelphia, and after four years I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and an Art Teaching Certificate.
I opened my own studio and taught after school classes to children age five through eighteen, and taught adults in the evening. Since that time I have exhibited my work in local art shows in the Philadelphia area. I now paint almost exclusively in acrylics, and oils.
